About Cyberpump!

April 2001

Hello,

I came across your great website several months ago. I've been working out with weights for many years using the "traditional" high volume routines featured in all of the popular bodybuilding magazines. I have been hearing about the "high intensity" philosophy here and there, but never really paid attention to it until I happened to find your site.

About a month ago I switched to a high intensity routine, using several of the programs on your website. I am now a full fledged high intensity convert. I no longer feel burned out and look forward to each and every workout. Since I no longer do 20 sets per bodypart, I make each and every rep count, and with that kind of intensity I can't do more than 2 sets anyhow. Not having to do massive sets means that I put that much more energy into the few sets I have and reduces the chance of a serious injury. Thank you for your time.

Hey! I'm a huge fan of cyberpump, I check it daily to see if there is anything new. In fact I work in a bookstore and after being amazed at the number of people buying Bill Phillip's Body for Life book, I took a look through it and realized he could have written it by doing all his research on cyberpump.com. So now whenever someone asks me for his book I help them find it, and hten I also write down cyberpump.com and tell them to check it out. All the same ideas and basic information Bill Phillips gives, and more! And, best of all, free! As an added bonus, it's also continuosly updated with new information and new ideas, whereas Body For Life is a static, unchanging book.

Thanks,
Ben Skott

I have got to tell you nobody updates their site quicker or better than you. Appreciate all the hard work. It's nice to know that there will be something new almost every time I go to Cyberpump. Enjoying the stuff.

Hi!

My name is Patricia Biesen and I just wanted to say thanks for putting out all this valuable information. Not everyone can afford a trainer. First of all, a little about myself, I have always exercised. In fact I was a bit of an exercise junkie like most woman who hopped on the aerobics craze of the '80's. I always included some Nautilus into my program but I never really knew what I was doing. I just sort of went through the motions. I would have to say out of all the exercise programs in the world, weight lifting is the best. If only I had known that all along. I have made more progress in the past three months that I have been seriously lifting than ever before. To be quite honest with you I am pretty small. 5'5, 118 lbs., 16.8% body fat but I see my triceps growing and muscles covering my shoulders where bones used to stick out. Ironically, this so-called man's sport is giving me a more womanly figure. Sure it is a little intimidating. As a child I also endured countless torture from my gym teacher. I had a growth disorder called precious adolescence, basically I was very big for my age. I reached my current height by the time I was in the second grade. This "teacher" basically called me fat and really pushed me hard-too hard. I was not very coordinated and couldn't climb the rope. As an adult I have learned that lifting is the best revenge against any mean gym teacher.

I just want to say thank you and I look forward to learning more from Cyberpump.com. Thanks!

Patricia Biesen, WIP

Just wanted to say what a great article "Three Lifter, Three Ways Up" By David Maurice was! I appreciated hearing these strength trainers stories. It was very motivating. Articles like that one, Herk's log and the Steel Spiel really give the every day reader something to be inspired by and shoot for!

They are a nice balance to the other excellent articles on strength training that are the meat of the site.

Thank you for the site!!!

First off allow me to say that I simply love your site. After reading the articles, and actually allowing myself adequate time to rest (I had been fooled by the magazines....I feel so ashamed), I have started having the results I needed. After two years I have grown from 6'0", 150 lbs. to 231 lbs. with around 7% bodyfat. I attribute this to your site along with a lil' bit of genetics (there are a lot of huge nonlifting people in my family, in fact my grandfather thinks weights aren't necessary just a lil bricklaying to get that bodybuilder look....ha ha). I have to admit, I only started to actually "grow" about 5 months ago when I was at about 180-185 lbs. I then reached a plateau. I then fell upon your site surfing the web one day and read a few of the articles and the workouts. My first thought was, within this short of time how can I grow, but I was willing to try anything so I gave it a try and WHOA! I only needed 2-3 20-30 minute workouts a week and I was completely fatigued and lightheaded, it was as if I could feel the muscles growing.

Well, to make a long story short, in the last 5 months I have put on roughly 50 lbs. of muscle, and I don't seem to be slowing down at all. I attribute your site to making lifting enjoyable to me once again and giving me the "correct" information towards making my hobby enjoyable and seeing results once again. I think you so much for everything on the site, as I sit at the site for hours reading through new and old articles alike learning something new always. Once again allow me to thank you and giving a relative "youngster" (at 21) such as myself a strong foundation and the opportunity to prove ol' grandpops wrong.

Thanks so very much Cyberpump,
Marquis

I think your site is great, and it has become my home page! I am wondering how often the Q and A sections are updated, in particular the Strong Women and the Common Sense Nutrition columns...I have submitted questions and am hoping to see a reply!!

Keep up the great site!

Just wanted to take a moment to say thanks for a great site. The "Training for Two" column is terific. My B.S. is in Exercise Physiology (Bridgewater State College, 1982, studied under Bob Otto, Eric Sills and had some nice input from Wayne Westcott as well). So when I first saw this column I was intrigued.

Both Sarah's personal perceptions and the actual data are fascinating. In college, we looked at aerobic conditioning and how the need does not have to stop at pregnancy. I would venture that strength training is a better alternative. Her column is proof positive. Now all we need is a small grant and some women willing to be subjects for a study!

One thing I'd like to add is can we have more scientific data. It would be hard for Cyberpump to be all things to all people. And, some data IS conflicting. Maybe have a links to the American College of Sport's Medecin's site (ACSM), and some others would fulfill that need, while removing the content responsibility. Certainly the content at Cyberpump is excellent right now.

Thanks again for taking the time to edit and keep Cyberpump! current and fresh!

John

Dear cyberpump,

I just want to say that your site has been one of the biggest discoveries I've had and a tremendous EDUCATION for me and my work out. I hope you keep up the good work and please don't EVER quit. Thanks.

Hey Fellas,

Cyberpump just keeps getting better. Please have more video clips especially for squats and deadlifts like the Dr.Ken video. I'd really like to see Kevin Tolbert doing heavy squats and deadlifts.

Thank You,
M.W.

Hey guys congratulations on such a helpful and interesting site!! Everyone should know about the information that you guys have compiled particularly the H.I.T. technique(s).

Good Stuff!

Hello There!

I'm an advanced novice of 14 months - female, 45 and obsessed with lifting/body building. I've read lots of books, many internet sites and I have to say...

After reading a small portion of your site... it's like a book you just can't put down. I got so much motivation and information I went to the gym and put 90 more pounds on the vertical leg press. And I did 3 sets of 6 with that weight. I learned more about mental focus, how to move forward with new loads, watched clips and I'm just so turned on and clear as to what I have to do now.

I can't thank you enough! Please post this somewhere for other women to see. I welcome e-mail from anyone who wants to compare notes or just have a wonderful conversation about weight training.

Thanks a million Cyberpump!

Gentlemen,

I had been lifting for about two years (the "muscle-mag" versions) and making moderate progress. I stumbled onto your site about 6 months ago, and switched to HIT method. I have made great progress in all of my lifts and am stil adding weight to the bar 6 months later. Thanks for all of the great information and advice. I am 43 years old and I feel like I'm 18 again. The expertise and knowledge on your site is unmatched by the other weightlifting sites (and believe me, I have seen them all). Keep up the great work, and keep the interesting articles coming.

Thanks,
Ken

Hey There,

Just found your site, and I am so glad I did, I'm just starting to build and have found most of the bodybuilding sites are endless drivel and adds, but yours is informative (straight to the point) honest and motivating, I look forward to visiting often. Thanks alot.

Regards
rach

Dear Editor,

Like so many others, I really enjoy your site! The common-sense information I've found on Cyberpump has changed my entire attitude on training. Thanks a lot!

I have especially enjoyed Brian Minogue's articles, and I was wondering if his e-mail address is available so that I could talk to him personally. I agree with him on a lot of issues, and I have a couple more I'd like to discuss with him.

Thanks for the great site!
