I feel like finding your site was good fortune. I am 60 years old, in very good shape and have been "working at" working out since I was 28. I am the ectomorph type. Made some gains from the skinny guy I used to be but never to the extent I wanted. I knew that stuff I learned was not really for my body type, genetics etc. I knew the basics of progressive resistance training (work out, rest 24 hours etc). Kept in good shape but not getting the size increases I wanted. Don't have too much in the deltoids, lats, chest.
Being of scientific orientation I never found stuff that seemed sound advice. Your site has rung my bell, real well. I have started a basic HIT work out and feel I now know what to do with confidence; a sound plan. All my questions and more were answered and I visit the site often for review and more info. I feel like you guys are taking care of me.
I will keep you posted on my results; already my body tells me I am on the right path.
Thanks for the integrity and energy you put into this site.

To whom it may concern,
I have been reading Cyberpump several times a day since I started my subscription to MILO-for about 9 months. I am not new to the iron game, but I am to the HIT style of training and I must say that your site is informative, inspirational and addicting.
One of the highlights to your site is whenever a new "Herk's log" is posted. Since there is no direct contact information for Herk, I thought I would pass on something for him through you. Thank you.

Dear "Herk",
I am overcome with gladful anticipation every time a new "herk's log" comes out. Your approach to physical culture is enlightening and inspiring. I learn new things every time I read your reports and take something away from the experience that helps me grow as a person and as an Iron Warrior. Your solid approach to nutrition helps me to create the desire ot fuel my body with wholesome and nutritious foods, and every time you perform a 'random act of kindness", I am inspired to do the same. Thank you for your contribution to the world of positive physical culture. I read the archives of your column frequently and glean something "new" everytime I read it. Thanks and Keep on keeping on!

i just wanted to say keep up the outstanding work you have not only the best weightlifting sites on the web, but one of the best sites on the web period. keep it up!!!!!!!!!
thank you

Just a note to say how daring (yet again) for you to put up a column featuring a newbie HITer - "Diary of a Steel Wannabe" with Cindy Campbell. I think it is great that this column is up here, so people can see first hand her transformation using abbreviated training. Many people frequent Body-for-Life and are very motivated by what they see - and they should be, many of the stories and transformations are amazing. Having a diary showing how similar results are possible using H.I.T. will be equally as motivating to many who come to this site.
Keep up the great work - John
Thanks for providing a great web site with so much useful information. You helped me tremendously. I am making strength gains while spending less time in the gym which enables me to have the time to, not only enjoy my strength training, but so many other activities that I love to do--yoga, running, spinning, and swimming.
Thanks for your help.

I appreciate the training tips you all have for us. I am a 21 year old man who is always looking for tips on how to train right so as to be able to train in the future. keep up the good work fella's.

Cyberpump is awesome keep up the great work!!!
This site is the best! If it had have been around in the eighties when I started training I would have saved years of wasted effort doing 5 sets of four exercises for biceps on a pair of 12.5 inch arms! Anyway, in no particular order here is my feedback:
1. I'm a trainer and have been for almost 5 years and most of my clients have lotsa $ and are well established but there are these kids at my gym (17-21 years old) that are just starting to lift and need guidance. I try to help them out when I get time but free advice doesn't pay my mortgage and there are so many kids that need help getting proper form and a proper perspective on volume and intensity that I can't help them all. So, I always send them to your site. One kid, I refused to see until he read all the KIS and XXXL Q+A archives, as well as all of DR. Ken's articles. These kids can get routines and learn about how to develop there own from Hutchinson and Gunnar but they need to SEE what proper from is. Some of the articles go into great detail about form, but If you could have pictures of the basics, squat, bench, deadlift, SOHP, SLDL. etc... start, midpoint and end point of each exercise would be very beneficial. (Ideally front view as well as side view.) This would COMPLETE your site making it really all one would need as a guide to get into the iron game from the ground up.
2. Pleeeaaase don't take out the video of Dr. Ken squatting!!!!!!!!
(Other shots and video's can come and got but everyone needs to see that.) Also keep the one of the guy puking while his training partner does TBDL! I really like that one also.
[editor's note: Unfortuately none of the clips are available right now. The bytes downloaded due to the size of the clips was too costly. Unfortunately, no new sponsor has been found to cover the costs and even grow more]
3. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT CHANGE A WHOLE LOT! What you are doing works really well so don't fix what ain't broken.
4. See feedback #1. Detailed pictures of proper form in 15-20 basic exercises would really complete the site.
All the best!
Sincerely,
Todd Matthews
Dear Editor,
Let me just say that I greatly appreciate the efforts of yourself and all others involved in creating and maintaining such a fine website. I have been visiting Cyberpump! for about three years now and have learned much about proper training, effort, and history of the weight game. You are doing a great job and I sincerely thank you for your time and effort. I spent my first two years of training on high-volume routines, which did yield results, but not enough to validate my invested time. When I discovered HIT through Cyberpump 3 years ago it changed my outlook and approach to training forever, allowing me to gain size and strength past my plateaus. But due to a repetitive strain injury I had not been able to train for over seven months, until resuming it 3 weeks ago. After having been absent from my gym for so long I had almost forgotten how to train productively, as well as generate enough intensity and enthusiasm for training to be successful. Luckily, I still had the link in my "favorites" and spent about 5 hours reading and reacquainting myself with the basics of sound, productive training. There's so much useful and inspiring information on this site that I can't think of a better resource for strength training information anywhere. Thanks a bunch and keep up the great work. There's a lot of young trainees out there who haven't discovered you yet, but are depending on you.
Best regards,
Steve Vincent
Hello Cyberpump
My name is Graham Dean and I am studying to become a Strength and Conditioning Coach, here in South Africa, and I have recently come across, the best and most inspiring and wise pieces of writing in the Strength Training Industry that I have ever come across. The author is DR KEN LEISTNER, and I just want to thank you, Cyberpump, for bringing his articles and wisdom to a place where I( someone just starting out in strength) can read him and learn so much from him. It is absolutely brilliant. Thank you SO much. I am so excited to read his next article, I love his writing.
Thanks SO much for a tremendous site.
Regards.
Graham Dean, SA.
Funny guys. I enjoy their writing.
Keep up the good work. I love this site.

It is very interesting to me that articles are coming around the mention the adverse affects of sugar. This was a big deal in the 60s and 70s. Reading Strength & Health and Iron Man was like reading the anti drug issues of today. Only then is was sugar. I think they were right. I believe sugar is worse than animal fats. I also believe the carbo thing is out of hand. Normal people and weightlifters (serious and otherwise) can not live on a carb hight diet. It is fine for runners. I could eat anything drink anything (insert beer here) and never gain. I can not run due to knee problems (and I do miss running) and can no longer afford the high carb eat any thing diet. The site continues to be absolutely outstanding.

I just want to say to the whole team who run the website, what an amazing job you guys do. I know I'm just another Joe having his say, but really you guys should be as proud as hell for the service you provide. I've got to say that it's the best site on the net, and it's aimed, not at meat heads but at everyone out there who just wants to look after their health, and do it properly.
Again, you don't know valuable you guys are.
As to Herk, if you could pass this mesage on to him - what an amazing guy he is. And I'm not just talking about the herculean efforts he puts into his training. I mean, the guy is truly touching, through both his stories and the way he goes through life trying to make all those he comes into contact with, happy.
You guys are fantastic

Hello, my name is Matt Fleming, and I just wanted to tell you that I think your site is great. It's nice to see that not all weight trainees are screwed up in the muscle mag's philosophies.
I especially enjoyed the "Muscle Mag Follies" feature in your Feature Index. It was hilarious, and refreshing to see someone with common sense making fun of the idiots who write for those comic books.
I've also enjoyed all the Q and A columns, along with the Arthur Jones and Dr. Ken features. Great stuff.
Awesome site, keep up the good work.

Hi there,
I'm a 42 year old bodybuilder. I was one of many who used the volume workouts. 5 sets of this 5 sets of that.... Then, I discovered HIT. Its been a life saver for me. I had a disc removed in 89 at L5S1. I have permanent damage to my sciatic nerve. I've been on pain killers since then. Workouts are tough for me because I have to endure back pain. But this has toughened me up. The pain of going to failure is candy compared with it. I wish I'd discovered it years ago. I've gone from 179 lbs. to 195 in 40 days. At 5'8" I look good. I eat like a horse in heat and that combined with my 2 full body workouts per wk has done the trick. Hit is so simple it makes me puke. I used to put in 8 hrs. per week. Now its under 2 hrs. Thanks for the info, its helped me so much. God bless and keep hitting.

Hey Editor,
Awesome site. I found it back in January and have checked in just about everyday since. My interview got posted on the Steel Spiel and I thought that was really cool. Thanks, I really appreciate all the work you put into keeping Cyberpump the best site on the net. Thanks,
Brad Burgess
I enjoy reading the many articles on the web site. It gives me different ideas about training that I never thought of and has confimed what I believed to be true through my own experimentation. I always have admired Dr. Leistner and look forward to reading his articles. I downloaded the video of him doing 407 for 23 reps. Every time I think I want to slack off I just play it back. Keeps me going. F.Y.I. I recently worked up to a 20 rep squat with 235 lbs. I'm on a six week cycle where I squat with 20 reps twice a week and then use a pyramid/wave type of training for the other six weeks, with a week in between with no lifting or very, very light weight. I'm actually starting to see some progress again. I'm always surprised when I squat (butt cheeks kissing the floor ya know) that some "expert" will come up to me and tell me how I'm going to ruin my knees. Well, I'm almost 47 and can walk just fine, thank you very much. Keep up the good work guys.

I just wanted to say thank you so much for your site. My favorite thing to do is to bodybuild andread about bodybuilding. I used to purchase bodybuilding magazines such as Muscle & Fitness and Flex, but I never got anywhere following the training advice offered in them. Once I stumbled onto this site, I fought it hard. How could doing so much less be better?
I started cutting down on my exercises, days of lifting, and number of sets. I saw progress. I kept reading your site, and kept cutting down. I kept seeing progress. Now I only work out three times every two weeks and I am bigger and stronger. I used to work out ten times every two weeks. I never would have learned this had it not been for your website. Now I use all of the extra free time I have from not lifting so much to read everything in your website. I am so much more knowledgeable about bodybuilding, and I thank you sincerely for it. Your site provides so much entertainment for me. I am very grateful for all of the people who devote their time to providing such excellent information.
Just wanted to say thank you for the incredibly informative website. I am back into training after a considerable layoff and your site is helping me to do things the right way.
Wanted to know the e-mail address for "Herk" of "Herk's Log". His information and insight is so helpful, I would like to tell him.
Thanks,
Tim
I jsut wanted to say that I appreciate the site. I started lifting...trying to follow the 5-6 day a week routines outlined in the magazines. Not until I switched it from a three day routine as posted on your site, down to my two day routine lasting no more than 30-40 minutes a session did I really pack on the muscle. I went from a then weight of 190 pounds at a height of 6'0", to a weight that is now 242 lbs. Thank you very much for the informative site. I appreciate your help.

I just thought that I should reassure you that this is the absolute best website on the internet. I haven't even looked through all of the features (right now I'm on the K.I.S. Q and A) and it is easily, EASILY the single best site of accurate, appropriate, useful information that I have ever encountered on or off the internet.
Thank you.
Dear Sir,
You have put together quite a team. Cyberpump contains some of the best articles I have ever read bar none. Look forward to every single one. Thanks much. It is great when you dig out some of those old ones too. Time doesn't matter when it comes to training. Love your board.
Scott
Dear editor,
I'm writing to express my appreciation for your fantastic website. I have just become interested in lifting recently and I've found all the articles and information on the site very helpful and informative. I specifically admire the common sense approach to lifting that many of your experienced writers provide. I really like Sean Toohey's articles the best. So well done to you all for providing a quality information and training service, it really does make a difference to some of us.

That was some great reminiscing. I remember seeing pictures of that lift in "Strength and Health". It was also talked about in Bill Starr's book: "Defying Gravity". As close to a true military press as one could have made with that weight at that weight. If one goes back to the old mags and see pictures of March, he definitely shows the massive body type built with heavy, heavy weights. All of the great olympic lifters had great strength and could put the body builders to shame. Looking forward to many great articles by Mr. Bourg.
respectfully;
Mick
Just a quick note to say GREAT JOB! I am really glad to see Herk's Log back - incredible inspirational and informative as always!
The training for 2 column is an excellent and may I say "cutting edge" approach. It is rare to see anything of this nature. It is informative, and (I would hope!) motivating to women who have picked up The Iron. And I also want to congratulate you on having Sarah's column for a few more entries. It will be terrific to see her recovery (and motivational for other women as well I would bet).
Finally, I like the new Q&A format. I would guess this format is harder on you (at least it LOOKS more complicated for the Webmaster). The other format was simple, and it worked and I had no complaints. This one though is cleaner and quicker. Nice addition.
Keep HITing us with the great content!!!!

This is a great web page. I thas some very useful training tips and information to make me get the best out of my training. I know know what weights to use and also when not to increase in weight. I used to overload without knowing, but know i know and I make myself stop.

Dear Cyberpump,
This site is the best thing to happen to trainers!! I recently got my certification through John and jim and it has given me that edge and confidence to truly succeed!! I am able to help people train smart and logically. I have always been an advocate but know I am know much more!!!
Thanks for the support,
Your Friend,

[on Herk]This guy is a animal! Where in the world did you find him? Great reading! Thanks.
Im so thrilled to see a website with answers. I mean real answers from real people who actually go out and train and do what they advise.
Keep up the great work!

Editor:
This is definitely a great site overall, from the historical Arthur Jones type stuff, to the Q&A's, etc.. However, I feel that the training logs are the best of all. Even for non-beginners, to see how somebody plans their training, progresses, and analyzes their results is incredibly educational and instructional. This is what it is all about. Thanks for the inspiration.

Dear Sir
Congratulations for your fantastic home page. I am 48 years old and I am using many of your suggestions in my work out.
I think it is one of the most serious an scientific sites for bodybuilding and fitness. Receive my congratulations from Brazil.
Antonio Baptista.
Greetings!!!
Your site is amazing and the information you publish has opened my eyes to a different kind of training. I'm from Manila (Philippines) and i'm quite sure that i'm one of the very few who use a HIT workout for strength training. I can't imagine how much time i would have wasted if i didn't discover your site through the HIT FAQ linked to ABOUT.COM. Keep up the amazing work!!!
best regards,
Randall
Just wanted to take a moment to say thanks for a great site. The "Training for Two" column is terific. My B.S. is in Exercise Physiology (Bridgewater State College, 1982, studied under Bob Otto, Eric Sills and had some nice input from Wayne Westcott as well). So when I first saw this column I was intrigued. Both Sarah's personal perceptions and the actual data are fascinating. In college, we looked at aerobic conditioning and how the need does not have to stop at pregnancy. I would venture that strength training is a better alternative. Her column is proof positive. Now all we need is a small grant and some women willing to be subjects for a study!
One thing I'd like to add is can we have more scientific data. It would be hard for Cyberpump to be all things to all people. And, some data IS conflicting. Maybe have a links to the American College of Sport's Medecin's site (ACSM), and some others would fulfill that need, while removing the content responsibility. Certainly the content at Cyberpump is excellent right now.
Thanks again for taking the time to edit and keep Cyberpump! current and fresh!
John
dear cyberpump,
I just want to say that your site has been one of the biggest discoveries I've had and a tremendous EDUCATION for me and my work out. I hope you keep up the good work and please dont EVER quit. Thanks.
HITer
Hey Fellas,
Cyberpump just keeps getting better. Please have more video clips especially for squats and deadlifts like the Dr.Ken video. I'd really like to see Kevin Tolbert doing heavy squats and deadlifts.
Thank You,
M.W.
I just thought I would send you guys an email to let you know how great I think this site is. I have been lifting weights for 15 years and I have seen and read and tried almost everything. When I discovered your HIT method I was instanly hooked! It's like I am working out for the first time again! It's incredible that after all this time I could be excited about training again. Your theories and methods are excellent as well as safe. For years I read those "muscle-mags" and all their rediculous claims and advertising, which is why in particular I enjoy you "muscle-mag follies". They are hilarious and so true! To think I actually read and followed the advice of these self serving rags is beyond me. The HIT method is
bar none the ultimate training regemin. I work out 2 or 3 times a week with maximum intensity and for less time than it takes a brainwashed hi-volume junkie to do 1 set!?!? Leaving me with way more time to enjoy the good things in life!
I am making such big gains in such a shorter amount of time! As for supplements...the only thing I take is a multi-vitamin on days I can't eat a balanced set of meals. Thanks again for setting my training straight. I stumbled on this site while just surfing, now I think it was destiny. Keep up the fantastic work!!!
Converted to a HITer!
