Just writing to tell you that I really enjoy your website; looks good and makes a lot of sense. I have known Arthur Jones for a number of years and enjoy reading the articles about him.
I would also like to ask if you know whatever happened to a fellow named Ivor Butcher. He used to be in competition, but I haven't heard about him in a while.

This has become my favorite! I do not know where to begin.I'm in awe of the man. His attitude is fantastic as well as inspiring. His lifts are beyond comprehension!

Hi:
His column gets more and more interesting! I know that story about proposing had nothing to do with lifting, but it never finished what happened.... Any chance he could finish it?? It would be interesting to see how he fits work, marriage (if he is), etc., into his lifting schedule. He is quite an inspiration, and I hope this doesn't turn into a few jerks criticizing the guy for being honest, the way people went after Dr. Ken's video.
Keep up the good work!
Hi Editor,
It's good to see Rob Spector writing for Cyberpump again. I like his articles, he's a funny guy.
Herk's log is very inspirational. The site just keeps getting better :)
Regards,
Dan

Thanks for giving us Herk's log, this guy is so cool. I've read a ton of positive thinking & motivational books, seen & heard a lot of speakers and Herk is up there with the best of them. Even those foolish enough not to be into lifting could benefit from his positivity & enthusiasm. His words truly get me fired up to lift. How about some more on your psychology & visualisation techniques Herk ? Look forwards to the next installment, you need to find a publisher....
I just wanted to say that I have been an avid DAILY reader of cyberpump and this is truly the best site on the net!!
Herk's log is one of the best contributing posts here. Not only does he show how it's really done in the gym but this guy is so positive and optimistic and that is what people need in their lives!!! Just wanted to say GREAT JOB !!!! :)

Dear Editor - I used to read Herk's column and feel I didn't measure up as a weightlifter. Now I read his column and feel as if I don't measure up a as a person! All kidding aside, Herk's column about his experience getting a haircut shows how one person can touch another person's life in the most ordinary setting with a simple act.
Herk's column is so unique, enjoyable, educational and inspirational on so many levels, it's actually hard to praise it enough. I can't think of another column in any publication - newspaper or magazine - that is anything like it. I've read it from day one, (it's not that old), and it is truly one of a kind.
His experience in the convenience store and the time he went up to the
mountains to soak in the air also made me think. In fact, I find myself thinking just as much about his philosophy of life and his positive attitude as I do about his training advice.
Great job!
John Carlson
Please give my compliments to Mr. Sparkman for his inspiring workout logs. When I read them I can't wait to get to the gym and kick butt! I hope that it may be possible for him to write an article telling us more about his interesting routines (lots of 1 rep sets, etc.) as I am thinking about trying something similiar myself. Thanks!!!
Hi!
First out I would like to say that I like your site, it´s huge and everything is free. Second, I was wondering if there is someone who could give me the routine Casey Viator and Arthur Jones used during the Colorado experiment. That would be really great. I´ve read the article on your site.
Thank´s in advance.
Greeting´s from Stefan, Sweden
Hi, I really enjoy reading your site and especially Herk. He is very inspirational for all lifters. I am 54 years old and really started lifting seriously about 14 months ago. My trainer is a hardgainer fan and a proponent of Dr. Ken's. I have increased my strength dramatically in a short time. I started squats with 60lbs. now 300lbs for sets of 15-20x3. Staying healthy is the key so you can keep training. Thanks to Herk for the great advice.

I am new to Cyberpump so I'm reading it as much as time permits. Just let me say it is awesome. Especially Herks log evrytime I read it it gets me fired up to train.
Just wanted to thank Herk for his terrific motivation. In the the past month or so since reading Herk's log my bench has increased 20 lbs. and my 20 rep deadlift has increased by 25 lbs.
keep up the good work: Bill
On the KIS Q&A...
Wow, That's all I can say to your response. I asked how to get big fast and was expecting not to get much of a response due to the vagueness of my question but you ended up answering back with a brilliantly helpful and complete answer. Thanx so much and I will most definately give what you told me a solid and full effort. Thanx again and great colmn!
Dave
I just wanted to say thanks to all of you who are sticking to the truth. Because of the HIT digest that I was subscribed to for over a year I was able to use a routine that is brief, intense and works. I lift twice per week with only 4 exercises per session, and of course only one exercise per set. I have seen my strength increase almost every workout, and although I have not been as consistent as I should, when I have come back off of a layoff, I just pick back up where I started.
For the first time in my life I keep a training log, and there is almost nothing better than recording my progress everytime I train.
I am including some of my progress for you to see, and although I am sure it is nothing spectacular to some, it is fantastic for me so far.
Can't wait to be squatting 400 and deadlifting 500.
Hi! I'm Harold Abellanosa from Cebu, Philippines and I would to let you guys know how thankful I am for all the free information in your site. I have applied some of the things I've learned from the various articles and I'm happy with the results. I hope you just get better.
Sir,
Just wanted to let you know how much I'm enjoying the "Herk's Log" section. It never ceases to amaze me when you come across an individual who discovers his own path in weight training. His ability to confer that to us is quite remarkable. I'm looking forward to months and months of the "Herk's Log". It'll be most interesting to see where his training training will take him over the course of a year or more. Lotsa lessons to be learned from his journey. Tell him thanks and to keep the entries coming!!

I wish you would post an address to e-mail the man/monster directly, without having to bother your august editorial self. herk's log is FABULOUS, INSPIRATIONAL and awe-inspiring. Please give him my best.
Hi there,
Firstly just wanted to say thanks for publishing my Steel Spiel. It was a nice surprise to see my name on such a cool site.
I'm really just writing to let you (and Herk) know how much I like Herk's Log. It's refreshing to read about someone who lifts hard and heavy for the sheer joy of it and doesn't approach it like a scientific experiment as a lot of the 'HITers' (god .. I hate that word) do. Hard training should be about taking yourself to the limit and making solid progress through lifting heavy weights (like Herk) and not the 'HITers who think that you have to go through all of your sets as quickly as possible whilst incorporating forced reps, drop sets and negatives on every set or you're just not training hard.
Anyway .. I could go on for days. Keep up the good work.

Hi:
Well, this continues to be my favorite site!
Suggestion: Herk is great, and I gather that a ton of other readers are looking forward to the new postings as much as I do.
Could you feature him in the "Steel Spiel" so that we could learn more about him? I find myself wondering exactly what type of work he does, hobbies, etc. He is a great example of a guy that makes lifting a priority, but also has a life, and a sense of balance.
I just checked out this mornings post on his recent workout. I did the same thing last night: Took the dog (well, almost the same) for a walk after my workout, and enjoyed the stars. (also enjoyed my rubbery legs after doing squats) Nice to know I am not alone out here!
No need to respond, just wanted to make the suggestion.
Keep Herk coming to us, and as usual: More Dr. Ken is fine with me!
Enjoy the holiday.
Rich
Just wanted to let you know herks log is awesome. If he don't get you fired up you are dead. Keep it going and as always lift hard.
I enjoy Robert Sparkman's "Herk's Log" immensely. This man is so enthusiastic about his lifting that it is contagious!! He is a breath of fresh air in comparison to other web sites that are negative and who thrive on trashing people. I have a request of him; I would love to see photos of his bottom position squat with 600lbs. from the starting bottom position and at the top. THAT would be awesome!
Thanks.
George Parker
Please pass on my total appreciation for Herk's log entries- he hits a great number of very critical points in his articles. Positive attitude, insanely hard work INTELLIGENTLY done- the guy is just too cool for words!
Craig
Hi all,
I just wanted to let everyone there know how much your web site is appreciated. I read it EVERY DAY, weekends included. I am also a lifter and making the best gains ever now. Your advice is straightforward, to the point and not inflated with a bunch of "foo-foo".
Herk is the man! How about a video? Forget video, we need this guy on 20/20.
Keep up the great work!!!

Hello,
Just read Herk's log August 22. I really look forward to reading this twice a week.
I have to say this is the most inspiring stuff I have read, especially what he says about not writing or saying something that may offend someone and that words are powerful weapons.
As Herk says, negativity is insidious, and only by being positive and understanding towards others can we reach inner peace and our full physical potential.
I am in awe of his strength and wisdom.
Herk, may you lift long and prosper!
Paul.
Dr. Ken's article "Dogma" says it all. This is why Dr. Ken rules and some people will never get a clue. Everybody is different and needs to find what works best for them. The recent 'spiels' by Sorin, Coy, and Hepburn were excellent. Herk's log has some interesting insights as well. Thanks for a great website!
